Pineapple Crumble is now available at Backyard Burgers Ecoland, Davao

Pineapple Crumble is now available at Backyard Burgers Ecoland, Davao

Last May 21, 2014, I was invited by Jonas (my fellow Davao Blogger who blogs at www.davaocityguy.me), to taste the new product of the Backyard Burgers which is the Pineapple crumble. With regards to this, we also have an opportunity to meet Dan, the baker, who is behind this innovation.

Dan shared his experiences with his family and how they came out with the idea of selling this pineapple crumble. He said that he revised the ingredients and the taste to achieve his satisfaction and perfection.

As a dessert lover, my tongue was enticed as the group talked about this food. What makes this pineapple crumble unique is that the pineapple used is fresh from Bukidnon and the butter used is from Mindanao. The pineapple crumble from Mercedes Breads and Cakes actually originated in Cagayan de Oro City but is now available at the Backyard Burgers, Ecoland, Davao City. The pineapple filling is so sweet and luscious. You could taste its freshness as you give a bite. The crust so creamy and it complemented the juicy velvety filling. You won’t hesitate to eat the crust. Everything is just perfect!

Big stars, fun celebration greet families in Jollibee Family Bee Day grand picnic

Thousands of families converged in five different venues across the country and enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon during Jollibee’s Family Bee Day, dubbed as the grandest picnic ever!

Held simultaneously at the Quirino Grandstand in Metro Manila, Bayanihan Park in Pampanga, Nuvali football grounds in Laguna, Plaza Independencia in Cebu and Crocodile Park in Davao, the event was highlighted by performances from topnotch celebrity guests, live bands, side attractions and overflowing Jollibee treats.

“We are very excited to mount an event of this magnitude that celebrates the Filipinos’ love for bonding over good food. We are very happy with the turnout and pleased to see everyone enjoying the company of other people whom they treat like family. Talagang dito sa Jollibee, ang sarap maging pamilya,” said Jollibee vice-president for Marketing Harvey Ong.

Martin Nievera, Klarisse de Guzman and Callalily top-billed the list of performers who entertained families at the Quirino Grandstand while those who trooped to the Nuvali football grounds got star struck with Marian Rivera, Erik Santos and Moonstar88. Yum endorser Julia Barretto, Shaina Magdayao, Rayver Cruz and 6Cyclemind wowed audiences at the Bayanihan Park.

Gerald Anderson, Julie Ann San Jose and Sponge Cola thrilled families and friends at the Plaza Independencia while Maja Salvador, Slater Young and Imago entertained Jollibee Family Bee Day picnic-goers at the Crocodile Park.

Celebrities Carmina Villaroel-Legaspi, Regine Tolentino, and Vince and Patricia Hizon also came with their families to have a picnic.

Local stilt walkers and jugglers paraded around the different venues while dance performances from Jollibee and friends, Jollibee Kids Club members and leading dance crews kept the excitement up throughout the afternoon picnic. While the kids had a grand time playing at the inflatable slide and basketball shootout, families also enjoyed posing by the giant picnic basket and special photo frame wall installations to capture the fun moments. Before the day ended, photos from the event already made the rounds on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter sites with the hashtag #FamilyBeeDay.

By turning an ordinary summer afternoon into a fun-filled celebration with exciting entertainment from some of the country’s leading celebrities and bands, outdoor fun and games and great-tasting food, the country’s number one family fast-food chain truly enabled thousands of families to celebrate the grandest picnic ever!

As the grandest picnic ever, the Jollibee Family Bee Day gathered families, big and small, in five venues nationwide, for an afternoon filled with performances, outdoor games and Jollibee treats.

About the Brand:
They are two women co-founders, telematics engineers from Uruguay, South America. As women engineers in a male-dominated world, they have decided to bring innovation to a problem women face everyday: choosing make that's best for you and spotting the latest trends.

They began their start-up 2.5 years ago, when they were finishing their engineering degrees from university. They started it as a project and then transformed it into their business and passion for the last couple of years.

At first, both of them coded the first version of the software, which L'Oreal uses in our country; it was a point of sale version of the virtual tester, which automatically captures a picture of the user. The product has now evolved to GlamST: an online platform, which aims to create a new way of selecting and buying products.

They believe that they can create a new process of selection of makeup online and that their platform will allow women to share, discuss, help, entertain and identify the best beauty products for each women
