It's SEMBREAK!

It's SEMBREAK!
Daily status: *currently*
 Mood: Not so nice
News? Renovation in our *Narnia* classroom
 Semestral break BEGINS!
Results in exams are fairly bad. :(

Hi dearest readers! The picture above is a hallway in my school, University of the Philippines, Mindanao. I love this place best because the wind is so fresh and very calming. I want to introduce you my school but unfortunately I wont be doing that in this post but I'll be doing that very soon.

I don't know if it time to get out of my shell and have fun. Actually its the beginning of our semestral break. Supposed to be, as a student, I should be happy, you know those simple things that can make a busy college student happy. However, I am not finished with my grades. I mean my teacher will be going to send a list of students who will be taking removal exam.. If I am lucky enough to take the removals, I would be very very grateful. We had just our removals in Math a while ago and it's not so good. I tried my best.  I woke up very early in the morning but still it is not enough! The coverage is not for one-night-review. But I were so busy this past few days because it's our finals and I also have to study other subjects. Unfortunately, I am not quite confident with my answers. I am not confident with my stupid solutions that I didn't how I got those, in which I am quite sure that those were fairly incorrect. You know, I was taking my removals in Math and I was so nervous that my hands are shaking. It was hard for me to read the questions, internalize, remember and then answer. The feet and hands are sweating and my feet were as cold as an ice. I can't concentrate that much! That was such a horrible feeling! I don't know how am I going to begin this exam. I was wondering how my classmates answer these problems that were so tough! These are a lot worse that our final exams. I was so disappointed with myself knowing that I haven't included studying those important things that came out in our exams. I was so annoyed with myself. How am I gonna deal with this if I am going to fail this? What are the consequences? First, I can't take those prerequisite subjects. Second, my schedule will be full of minor subjects.

Anyway and hey, this is our classroom in Crop Science 10 and in MCB 180. Happily, it;s going to be renovated! That is awesome right? Because it has a big hole at the back part that is why late comers can still come in inside the classroom and could still signed in the attendance sheet (and I'm one of those late comer who still goes inside even though it's been 30 minutes). Oh well,I don't know if I'm going to be a irregular student next sem because I might fail Math and Physics. Oh my, Math is really annoying. Actually, I can manage to understand the lessons but I can't find time to study. I mean I don't have enough time to study because in UP, everyday is always an examination day. Oh my. Sometimes I want to give up but hey I found a post in Facebook and it's inspiring and here's how it goes:

Never think that you don't deserve to be here. Only those who doesn't deserve to be here are those who doesn't understand what it means to be in UP.

Being in UP means having to become extraordinary... And by extraordinary, we mean not having a GWA of 1. We do not mean perfecting your exams... By extraordinary, we mean, never giving up.

There will come a time that there will be walls against you and your dreams... Climb on it! Dig underneath it! Walk around it! Push through it!

Lastly, I know in a few years, you will forget to solve for parabolas or functions... But I will be proud as a teacher... When you walk out from this class at least you have learned to have courage, persistence, and strength to never giving up and keep fighting.

Grades are just numbers.

If it is worth dreaming of, then it is worth fighting for, and when it is worth fighting for, it is worth suffering through.

I found this very very interesting. Isn't? How about you readers? How's your studies? :)

Fun Under The Sun!

Fun Under The Sun!

Mood: Very Busy with everything with school.
 First time? ISLAND HOPPING.
New: Oh my Gosh! I'll be joining a music organization! >.<
To do list: Exam in Calculus and PHYSICS. Please wish me LUCK.

Hi friends! Sorry for updating late. But anyway, last August 25-27,2012,we had our field trip somewhere in Agusan and Surigao. And that was OH MY GOD! Anyway, this is the DAY 02. We went to Caraga Region (Agusan) and Surigao. And to tell you, that was the most amazing moment that had ever happened to my life. Day 1 wasn't that enjoyable because we didn't visited any resort so here it goes.

DAY 2:
I forgot the name of this island but if you can reach this place by travelling through boat from the Enchanted River. Since I appreciate the real colors of the picture, I didn't took a time to alter it. I love pictures more when they are in their natural state.

Oh my upon departure. I was way too excited because this is my FIRST ISLAND HOPPING EVER! This is definitely first time in my entire life and I was so speechless upon seeing the wonders of this place.

The sand was so fine and the water was so clear.

This rock is so nice isn't? It has complemented the white sand.

I guess this is my only picture since I was way too excited and too happy that I jumped in water and splashed it. I didn't had time to go for pictures because the view was very amazing. The water so clear and clean, the wind was so cool and fresh even though the sun was too hot.

DAY 03:
This resort is called Spacebar. The beach was really awesome and you would even forget your name upon seeing the very fine white sand. That looooongggg things there is a big slide. I wished I have tried it before departure.

Let's do some jump shot guys! Oh hey, from the right, that is Jaime, Chara, Victoria, me and Angela. It's really MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES!

Oh my gossh. The wind is really very refreshing. I love jumping round and round because I can't believe that I'm there. I am really very ignorant but then I was really happy and very fulfilled.

Oh my, this is really amazing! I really love this. I am really very proud of this picture because it reminds me of this very awesome place!

LAST MINUTES....

Oh my they look so nice isn't?

Oh my at the end, I realized that Philippines is such a rich country. I never thought I could ever find places like those in the Philippines. Upon being there, all I can say is a big WOW. The place was so enchanted and amazing. You would be dramatically and unintentionally be in love with nature. You would realize that the best things in life is not money... but it's all about happiness and nature.

Going to field trip like this is very rewarding because I guess, I had enjoyed it a lot because I am with my fellow classmates and friends. You know, it's a different feeling when you are with your family and when you are with your friends. As a typical teenage, you are more free to do anything you like when you are with your friends because you have the same brain waves and most likely, you are the same likes and dislikes. And amazingly, since I am not a swimmer, I was so happy to announced that I finally floated in the water for the first time! This sound really crazy but hell, I'm happy about it! That was the most amazing thing that every happened to me! Best experience ever!

The Maguindanao Road Crime Scene Story.

The Maguindanao Road Crime Scene Story.
Daily status: *currently*
Mood: Im afraid because there was a taxi driver that has been killed near our campus!
 Music: THE SCIENTIST by COLDPLAY
New: nothing.. new friends I guess.
To do list: Exam in Calculus, MCB and PHYSICS.

Yesterday while Im on my way to school. I have seen this taxi that was nearby and was struck into a tree. The driver of the motorcycle told me that someone killed the driver and he was a victim of a hold-up. I was afraid because he was killed with the use of a gun. My upperclassmen told us that he was killed 7pm that night. They were at the nearby house and somebody called their attention and told them that somebody has been killed and they must called 911. After calling 911, my upper class gave the phone to that person but he refused to. And maybe just maybe, he was one of the suspects because he didn't even look like he's afraid or what, he's acting so weird and normal. And why would he refuse to talk to the police? If he isn't really the suspect why would he go right after? Isn't weird? It was also raining that night. It's really creepy to pass to that road but we've got no choice.

The story behind it...
It was been said that the taxi driver has a customer from the SM Mall and he is heading to UP Mintal, to be specific, near our campus and would pass through the Maguindanao road. That was August 10,2012 and it was raining. It was also been said that he was first hold-up and then killed with the use of gun. The taxi was found near the "Rubber Seedling for sale"post. The fact that the guards didn't saw them because they entered the other street where there are no guards. So this might really be planned. There are some children who said that they've witnessed the crime. They said that there are lot's of them. They followed the car and killed the driver.  And up to now, the suspect hasn't found yet.

It's really creepy and very very ... That road has been an abortion road. Lives has been lost. Is it a curse to that road or what? We're really very afraid. So much.

Miracle lemon

Lemon for is used for bleaching Lemons are acidic and could actually bleach your skin. My elbows are a bit dark and I really hate it. So I searched the net for some natural ways of lightening it. And then here's how it goes.

Lemon Sugar Scrub
Take 1 lemon and roll it on the counter while pressing. This will “mush” the inside of the lemon so that it will be easier to extract the juice. Now, just cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into a small cup or bowl. Mix with an equal amount of water. Begin by adding a tablespoon of white granulated sugar into your the lemon water and stir. Continue adding small amounts of sugar until a paste is formed. Use in the shower.

Simple Tip:
This mixture also helps to fade self-tanning mistakes. Use only a light rubbing motion because you don't want to overdue it!

Lemon Sugar Body Polish
You can even transform your lemon sugar scrub into a body polish. Simply mix it with an equal amount of liquid soap! It makes the perfect quick body scrub. Sugar scrub recipes will last for several days if you keep them in your refrigerator. Remember, you can substitute other oils in your recipes. Some women prefer to use vegetable oil. You can enhance the fragrance even further by adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Sugar scrub recipes are perfect for experimenting with because the ingredients are inexpensive and can be mixed quickly.

Anyway, here more..

For brighter, softer skin use fresh lemon juice on any area of your body, including the knees, elbows, and face to brighten up and soften your skin. Lemon juice also fades freckles and age spots by applying lemon juice on the areas before going to bed at night. Over the course of a week or two, it will cleanse the skin and lighten its color. You can also add 1/2 cup of fresh juice to your bath water and soak for 20 minutes for an all over skin treatment.

If your skin is sensitive to the citric acid in lemons, you may desire to dilute the lemon juice with a bit of water rather than use it full strength. I apply lemon juice to my skin by putting the juice on an already moistened cotton ball. It is also not advisable that you apply lemon juice to your skin before sun exposure as it makes the skin more sensitive to the sun.

Get Rid of Blackheads by rubbing lemon juice over the area of your face that has blackheads before going to bed at night. In the morning, rinse your face with cool water. Repeat this procedure nightly until blackheads are gone.

Make a moisturizing mask for dry skin by mixing equal amounts of honey, lemon and olive oil. Apply the mixture to dry areas on the skin and allow it to dry thoroughly for about 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

As a toner for oily skin, combine 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons vodka, 1 tablespoon distilled water, and 1 teaspoon witch hazel. Use cotton balls to apply the mixture to your skin then rinse. You can store this mixture in the refrigerator for about a week.

To exfoliate dead skin cells rub a cut lemon dipped into a half-teaspoon of sugar over your face for a few minutes, or create a mild mixture by using lemon juice, sugar and a small amount of water. Do this every night to help remove accumulated dead skin cells and refresh your skin.

To make a lemon anti-wrinkle mask mix a teaspoon of honey, a few drops of lemon juice and a drop of sweet almond oil. Apply this mixture on the face and allow it to dry for 20 minutes and wash off.

Yiruma’s lullabies

Yiruma’s lullabies
Daily status: *currently*
Mood: Not so fine, because we have misunderstandings with my friends. :(
Addiction: Kiss the Rain by Yiruma
 New: Blue Layout. :D
THIS POST? This post is all about Yiruma as I tried to compare his songs to lullabies.

Firework by Katy Perry, the Lazy Song by Bruno Mars and Dj Got Us Falling in Love Again by Usher, are just some of the popular songs that are played almost several times a day in the radios. Who would not love songs like those? These songs will just make you dance and fix your mood for the day. This is why most teenagers prefer songs with genres like this. In contrast to this, I have a different taste of music. I adore acoustic and mellow songs such as the Kiss the rain by Yiruma. It entices my ears in a different way making me to love his songs even more. His songs give me peace of mind unlike rock music.

His songs seem to be lullaby. I love his compositions because I can imagine myself like a child listening to some sweet lullabies that brings back the memories of playing with her playmates in a sunny afternoon. I enjoy his songs like a child. Lullabies are the first love of the children. Lullabies will make them rest peacefully after a long day of fun and adventure. Lullabies will make them forget the feeling of losing a game.

Lullabies give them comfort like no other. As known in the society, when a baby cries, the mother would immediately hum a lullaby. Babies cannot understand words rather, would the songs were sung and this is what Yiruma has accomplished. The soft and rhythmic tune brings them a sense of calmness and security as they are cuddled. It is also very powerful because it can heal unwanted feelings. You cannot notice how it changes your mood.

His songs are very attractive and sentimental, like a how much a child treasures a lullaby. It would mean so much for the child especially when he grows up since it will remind him of every childhood memories. Lullabies became a part of his life. This is why older people never get tired of singing lullabies. They are always popular, unlike the new songs that are released nowadays. Even though it is not often played in the radios as much as the new and popular songs, it will never lost its popularity because lullabies will stay on the hearts of the people whom it has touched. Same as his songs, it never gets so popular to the point like the other new and popular songs, but it never gets old. New songs get popular but after a short period of time, they are forgotten.

Lullabies are very meaningful, like his songs. Sometimes, a short excerpt from his music, like a short lullaby, can give you more and lots of images than to those rock songs. Lullabies may mean your childhood or the past you have been through. Listening to a lullaby may help you remember how your mother used to sing it to you and how your mother used to soothe you when you feel very bad and that you will realize how much she love you. In times of trouble, lullabies may not solve your problems, but will give you strength to face them. For it can bring you to a simpler world, away from your worries and depressions. And at the end, you will realize that even though how complicated the world is, you will never be alone. For you can reflect lots of things even by just listening to his music.

Lullabies, like his sentimental masterpiece, can connect with your thoughts even without the use of words. Sometimes it is easier to hum to express your feelings because sometimes, there are no words to describe how you feel. This is why he is much known for his instrumental songs.

His masterpiece such as the Kiss the Rain and also the Bella’s lullaby, also seen in the movie, is so fantastic. Lullabies can help you fall asleep, in his case; his songs will help you fall in love with his piano. His songs reflect the unspoken words and amazingly, people of different age will love the way he plays his piano, professionally and passionately.

-As seen in my AH1 project under the Analogy. In case you don't know, I'm a big fan of Yiruma. :)

How to make kimchi?

How to make kimchi?
Ohayo! This is what I'm proud of this month. We had a project in MCB1, that is microbiology 1, and we have to make Kimchi or yogurt. Anyway, kimchi and yogurt are just some examples of the products of fermentation. Fermentation is the growth of bacteria in the absence of oxygen and they are oftn called as the anaerobic. Kimchi is a dish originated in Korea and its pretty spicy, depending on the ingredients you mixed with it. But I guess its good for the body because it has good microorganisms that may help you in digestion.

Anyway, this is how I made it you can try if you want. :)

- 1 whole Napa Cabbage
- 1 Cup of Salt
-10 Cups of Water
- 7 Tbsp of Anchovy Sauce or Fish Sauce
- 1 Cup of Crushed Red Pepper/ Chili powder
- 2 Pieces of Green Onion
- 1/2 of a Radish
- 1 Whole Garlic
- 1 Piece of Ginger
- 1 of an Apple
- 2 Tbsp of Sugar

- Slice Napa Cabbage into bite size pieces and put into a large bowl.
- Mix water and salt together and pour over cabbage.
- Let the cabbage sit for 2 hours.
- In a blender, combine the garlic, onion, apple, and ginger together. Puree.
- Julienne the Radish and thinly slice the Green Onions.
- After 2 hours rinse the cabbage in cold water about 3 times.
- Combine all the ingredients together in a large bowl. (Rubber gloves recommended)
- Store the kimchi in room temperature for two days and then keep in the refrigerator.

The longer it is kept, the sourer it gets! Anyway, I have some tips for you,

  • In mixing, the paste and the napa cabbage, you have to use gloves or in my case, I used spoon. It is really hot.
  • In storing the Kimchi, make sure the container is glass. If you use plastic, the product may also taste plastic.
The Final product:
I taste it directly after making it and I feel like, "ewwww" and very hot, But after 2-3 days, the spiciness is lessened and the aroma is pretty good. It become better actually, I realized, the more the good bacteria, the better it is! It really varies from person to person. I'm happy because I received 100% for the poster I made. We actually had to make an advertisement, which is making a poster. I'm proud of the results! You have to try it too!

These are the labels that I made for my product.

NEW LAYOUT FOR FEBRUARY.

NEW LAYOUT FOR FEBRUARY.

New layout for february. How are you fellas? I keep on changing layouts recently that it took me until 1 am. I know that I'm abusing my eyes that's why I'm suffering all the consequences. My left eye's vision is blurring and I have to wear glasses. I think I'm gonna wear them forever! I wanna die! I dont want those things. :( Anyway, I just had my exams  last week and I think my grades are a lot better because I've studied in advance! hahaha. Then, I'm quite excited for next week. It's our field trip! And we are heading to Cagayan. We are actually gonna visit the slaughter house. How does that stuff sound?

About the layout:
The base codes are really amazing. It's plain and very adorable because it is very neat and fixed. But then I realized its too plain so I added some colors and some backgrounds. I realized that colors and the background must be connected to each other and so this is the final product.

The background also makes me feel so good and light. I am glad that it matches everything. I've also edited my about me. Even though I'm struggling and trying to survive in UP, I'm still proud that I passed it and I was given an opportunity to study here. Anyway I almost always fail in most of my exams but I have to get moving.

MOVIE REVIEW: The Sixth Day

MOVIE REVIEW: The Sixth Day

The Sixth day, which was directed by Roger Spottiswoode, has a very intriguing theme which is cloning. In the movie, although cloning in animals is widespread, it is still illegal to clone a human. To do so is to commit a violation called "Sixth Day Violation". The arguments against cloning cover the spectrum from religious to philosophical to scientific. Lots of questions may arise, such as, are they human? Do they have souls? In the movie, when they clone a human, every part of that person is preserved; even the memory is also preserved. When the person dies and cloned, it is just as in that person has just got a new body since the memories are still there.

There are lots of benefits if human cloning is allowed, lots of diseases may be cured. Diseases like cancer, liver failure, kidney failure, leukemia, cystic fibrosis and defective genes may be treated faster. This may also provide organs for transplantation and a solution to infertility. Human life span may be prolonged and this may also lead to immortality. Through this kind of technology, we can clone the famous people that have become very popular and lead the world or those prominent people such as Bruce Lee and Albert Einstein.

Although it has some good effects, it is still not widely accepted in our society. In the perception of other people and of the church is that they are as if playing God. Life and death is natural in every way. And although the idea of a clone sounds pretty attractive, no one knows how the clone will behave and will he/she develop similar personalities like its master clone. With this kind of technology, we may also losing the diversity of genes human cloning is just copying the identical genes, which means it will decrease the diversity of genes. Furthermore, the beauty of humanity lies in the differences we see in each other. Cloning would eliminate surprise and predict expectancy. And most of all, the uncertainty of science technology may lead to unexpected results.

Cloning technology is such a great way to improve the lives of the people and of the community but still it is not yet approved by the society and is not accepted throughout the world. More research and studies may be done in the future. But as for now, people should be content of what they have and what they are.
