My kind of student life in UP.

My kind of student life in UP.

I've been really busy these past few weeks. First, I'm busy eating countless power points and science related reading materials (like literally), next, I'm also an active member in my organization in school, and lastly, my dearest social life. It turned out that my social life became my last priority when I reached college. I think this is normal if you are studying in a state university. But of course, everything has its good side. Well, one of the advantages of studying here in UP is that you'll be attached to nature. UP is situated in a place where the urban and rural meets, so it’s like enjoying the perks of both worlds.

As you see above, trees are everywhere. Left to right is all green. I really love staring blankly in this area when I find time since my building is a few meters away from this building. It makes you realize a number of things. I can’t explain what those things are but it is something worthwhile.

Just this week, DULA 2014 started. It's like an intramurals in other schools. I’m not fond of dancing myself so I just cheered for my batch mates who joined different sports-related activities. Things like these make me love my student life. Memories like these are to cherish for a life time. One day, my student life shall end and all of these will just be a memory to linger on. When time shall make me older, these things will be my treasure.

Last Wednesday, I came in late in my 8:00am class. I reached the school 8:29 a.m. and so I doubt if I’ll still come to class. I blame the jeepney driver, and all innocent people which have contributed to my lateness. I didn’t pressure myself so instead, I went to somewhere where I can relax and sit until my next class.

I sat to a cottage and after sometime, I started reading an e-book entitled: Sophie’s World. My eyes are dropping and I lie down and looked blankly to the trees. Until I realized I must share it to the world and captured it. And here it goes; the picture above says it all. The cool and fresh breeze that touches your hair and your sweet face, it’s fascinating. Not every people have an opportunity like this especially when you are living at the center of the city. I am lucky to be experiencing these while at school. Most of my classmates complain about their schools. They hated to be in their school, while I love to be in here.

I wonder what you guys are up to. :) How's school?

It's SEMBREAK!

It's SEMBREAK!
Daily status: *currently*
 Mood: Not so nice
News? Renovation in our *Narnia* classroom
 Semestral break BEGINS!
Results in exams are fairly bad. :(

Hi dearest readers! The picture above is a hallway in my school, University of the Philippines, Mindanao. I love this place best because the wind is so fresh and very calming. I want to introduce you my school but unfortunately I wont be doing that in this post but I'll be doing that very soon.

I don't know if it time to get out of my shell and have fun. Actually its the beginning of our semestral break. Supposed to be, as a student, I should be happy, you know those simple things that can make a busy college student happy. However, I am not finished with my grades. I mean my teacher will be going to send a list of students who will be taking removal exam.. If I am lucky enough to take the removals, I would be very very grateful. We had just our removals in Math a while ago and it's not so good. I tried my best.  I woke up very early in the morning but still it is not enough! The coverage is not for one-night-review. But I were so busy this past few days because it's our finals and I also have to study other subjects. Unfortunately, I am not quite confident with my answers. I am not confident with my stupid solutions that I didn't how I got those, in which I am quite sure that those were fairly incorrect. You know, I was taking my removals in Math and I was so nervous that my hands are shaking. It was hard for me to read the questions, internalize, remember and then answer. The feet and hands are sweating and my feet were as cold as an ice. I can't concentrate that much! That was such a horrible feeling! I don't know how am I going to begin this exam. I was wondering how my classmates answer these problems that were so tough! These are a lot worse that our final exams. I was so disappointed with myself knowing that I haven't included studying those important things that came out in our exams. I was so annoyed with myself. How am I gonna deal with this if I am going to fail this? What are the consequences? First, I can't take those prerequisite subjects. Second, my schedule will be full of minor subjects.

Anyway and hey, this is our classroom in Crop Science 10 and in MCB 180. Happily, it;s going to be renovated! That is awesome right? Because it has a big hole at the back part that is why late comers can still come in inside the classroom and could still signed in the attendance sheet (and I'm one of those late comer who still goes inside even though it's been 30 minutes). Oh well,I don't know if I'm going to be a irregular student next sem because I might fail Math and Physics. Oh my, Math is really annoying. Actually, I can manage to understand the lessons but I can't find time to study. I mean I don't have enough time to study because in UP, everyday is always an examination day. Oh my. Sometimes I want to give up but hey I found a post in Facebook and it's inspiring and here's how it goes:

Never think that you don't deserve to be here. Only those who doesn't deserve to be here are those who doesn't understand what it means to be in UP.

Being in UP means having to become extraordinary... And by extraordinary, we mean not having a GWA of 1. We do not mean perfecting your exams... By extraordinary, we mean, never giving up.

There will come a time that there will be walls against you and your dreams... Climb on it! Dig underneath it! Walk around it! Push through it!

Lastly, I know in a few years, you will forget to solve for parabolas or functions... But I will be proud as a teacher... When you walk out from this class at least you have learned to have courage, persistence, and strength to never giving up and keep fighting.

Grades are just numbers.

If it is worth dreaming of, then it is worth fighting for, and when it is worth fighting for, it is worth suffering through.

I found this very very interesting. Isn't? How about you readers? How's your studies? :)

The Maguindanao Road Crime Scene Story.

The Maguindanao Road Crime Scene Story.
Daily status: *currently*
Mood: Im afraid because there was a taxi driver that has been killed near our campus!
 Music: THE SCIENTIST by COLDPLAY
New: nothing.. new friends I guess.
To do list: Exam in Calculus, MCB and PHYSICS.

Yesterday while Im on my way to school. I have seen this taxi that was nearby and was struck into a tree. The driver of the motorcycle told me that someone killed the driver and he was a victim of a hold-up. I was afraid because he was killed with the use of a gun. My upperclassmen told us that he was killed 7pm that night. They were at the nearby house and somebody called their attention and told them that somebody has been killed and they must called 911. After calling 911, my upper class gave the phone to that person but he refused to. And maybe just maybe, he was one of the suspects because he didn't even look like he's afraid or what, he's acting so weird and normal. And why would he refuse to talk to the police? If he isn't really the suspect why would he go right after? Isn't weird? It was also raining that night. It's really creepy to pass to that road but we've got no choice.

The story behind it...
It was been said that the taxi driver has a customer from the SM Mall and he is heading to UP Mintal, to be specific, near our campus and would pass through the Maguindanao road. That was August 10,2012 and it was raining. It was also been said that he was first hold-up and then killed with the use of gun. The taxi was found near the "Rubber Seedling for sale"post. The fact that the guards didn't saw them because they entered the other street where there are no guards. So this might really be planned. There are some children who said that they've witnessed the crime. They said that there are lot's of them. They followed the car and killed the driver.  And up to now, the suspect hasn't found yet.

It's really creepy and very very ... That road has been an abortion road. Lives has been lost. Is it a curse to that road or what? We're really very afraid. So much.

LAST DAY OF EXAMINATION.

Exams are finish. But first semester is not yet over. We still have to pass some projects such as scrap book for our NSTP and our OI paper for our Chem16 Lab. Anyway, I slept at 3 am yesterday and my father woke me up at 5:00 so that I can study again. My head aches. Oh, that was my first time to be awake in the dawn and STUDYING CHEMISTRY! Chemistry is my worst subject ever! And I didn't know why the hell I took food technology. Anyway as you see I am really trying and doing my very best. I study bulks of books just to make sure I understand each and every detail of our topic but everything seems to be useless. I still get disappointing grades. Worst, most of them didn't pass. My classmate just told us a while ago that three in our section failed Bio. And we are just 7 in Bio. And I'm just afraid that I may be one of them. I don't want to retake that subject anymore. I dont want to suffer a semester again with Biology! What's wrong? I studied but it's worthless!

Biology is just one of my problems, here Chem16 goes. This may be the reason why I'm failing and hesitating. Hesitating to take its prerequisite. Prerequisite refers to a subject in which you have to pass a subject so that you can take the next subject. For example, in my case, I have to pass Chem16 so that I can take Chem17. Worst, I have to pass both laboratory and lecture. Even though percentage from the lecture is higher, still I can't take up Chem 17 unless I pass both. And that is my BIG problem. I passed laboratory, I don't think so with Lecture. How am I going to over come this? I just hate it because no matter I studied very hard, I still failed the exams. I don't know what's the right thing to do. I just feel very very hopeless and very depressed and frustrated. I spend my whole weekend studying Chem16 instead of going to Samal for a Family reunion. I sacrificed my family reunion just for Chem but still, I failed it!

Anyway, I have this motto that I would like to share to those students who were like me,studying but still gets lows scores. No matter how hard the journey is, no matter how far the goal is, we have to keep going. We should not be very affected with our grades. After all, they are just.... grades. That's all.

Surviving college is not the same with high school, where you can just depend to your classmates for assignments and quizzes. College life is different especially when you are studying in a state university. Though our passing mark is 60%, it's still very hard to get that kind of grade. What I mean is that you have to suffer sleepless nights just to get a grade of 60. And to tell you, you'd be really be very thankful if you got one. My friends who studied at private schools told me why the hell my grades are very low? Compare to them, they got 80's and 90's. That very far from our normal grades. Where in the world would a school recognize a grade of 45% ? This is really stupid but this is how the story goes.

Anyway, whatever happens, Life goes on.

University of the Philippines, Mindanao (UPmin)

University of the Philippines, Mindanao (UPmin)

And I am totally here. My computer had a wonderful vacation to the computer technician for almost a month! I thought I were to die spending everyday without my computer. Oh my beloved computer! Anyways, I found this site nowhere, and I think you guys going to love it. CLICK HERE. Everything is great except that next week will be my FIRST DAY IN COLLEGE. How can I overcome this fact? My friends are very very far from me. Okay now, how am I going to live without them? Speaking of my school, I would like to introduce it to you.

(click the picture for a better view)

And so, I would like to introduce you to my new school. I haven't had taken a picture the whole campus but I'll promise to take some picture for the first months of my studying there. So this is the University of the Philippines, Mindanao. And I am going to take food technology there. How does that sounds? I'm not yet ready for college. I am not yet ready for the challenges that awaits for me there. But life is full of challenges. I am not a bright student, I am not a consistent honor student, that is why studying in UPmin is such a big big responsibility. This is a big opportunity for me since I never expected to be a student of Upmin. At the first day of our orientation held last May 5-6, 2011. And that was the first time I first saw my batch mates. and my first impressions are, they are kinda boastful but wise. I don't know how to be friends with them. And what I expect is that my college years will be full of problems and worries. Problems about my lessons and worrying about my grades.

I'm going to miss my high school life. I will miss everything about my memories. I cant ever forget how we used to eat with my besties every lunch and recess. I'll going to miss my teachers who keep on giving us second chances in our projects. I'll going to miss getting a late slip. I'll going to miss every time I copy my classmates' homeworks. I'll miss our noises. I'll miss every song we sang when our teacher isn't around. I'll miss those practices that we always took for granted and though the finished product isn't that perfect at least, we were contented. I'll going to miss every time we walk from school to the mall. Since the mall from our school is just a few steps. I'll just going to miss everything.

I am used to be with my bestfriends and friends all the time. Now that they are all gone, HOW AM I GOING TO SURVIVE? HOW AM I GOING TO ACCEPT THE REALITY THAT WE CAN'T BE FOREVER? Easy problem for some, but terrible for me.  what a life!
